Brandon (Owner) - Master Stylist/Colorist

My hairstyling career began at the early age of 14 after my mother began to tire of the beauty salon she created in the kitchen. Upon noticing my interest in the art of banging hair she thrust her comb and shears into my hand and behold; a hairstylist was born.

To satisfy my craving to travel and see the world I left the country in 1993 at age 20 and moved to the island of Guam in the South Pacific. I landed a job as a stylist in a cool, upbeat salon and after about six months I began advanced training in Asia with Sebastian International. After about a year of continuous education I was offered a position as an educator for Sebastian in Brisbane Australia. I spent the next two years styling hair in Guam, educating stylists in Australia, and returned to the mainland U.S. in 1998 only to experience the reverse culture shock of life in my hometown of Fresno, California.

After escaping to Hawaii for about 9 months (I missed the South Pacific) I returned to Fresno to attend college and be close to my family. During my time in school I maintained a clientele to supplement my income and keep abreast on the latest trends and styles. After my mother’s passing in 2007 and with nothing tying me to Fresno anymore, I moved to San Francisco the same fall. Because the salon one works in is a reflection of the self, I was extremely selective in choosing a place to build my clientele. After months of looking I found Salon baobao in April of 2008. Since that time I have been aggressively continuing my education and passionately building a fantastic and totally diverse list of clients. Because I have traveled extensively I have been fortunate enough to have worked on every type of hair imaginable: long, short, curly, Asian, fine, lifeless, bushy and more...

I have spent the last 20 years of my life developing and perfecting my craft in the art of hairstyling. My belief is that hairstyling is just that – an art – and I feel so lucky that I am blessed with a talent that allows me to help people find their inner beauty through personal expression.
